Italy's Alessandro Calbucci and Marco Garavini will be hoping to add the European Beach Tennis Championships title to the World title they won last weekend in Cervia when play gets underway in Brighton, Great Britain on Friday.

A record 20 nations will be represented in the sixth European Beach Tennis Championships on 9-11 August.

Marco Garavini is aiming for a third European title having won with Paolo Tazzari in both 2008 and 2012. Fellow Italian Eva d’Elia is also returning to defend her 2012 title win and, like Garavini, will be with a new partner this year.

The British team can also expect huge local support and this event will be the first of a two-year deal to host the European Championships in Great Britain.
