The top four seeds in the boys Asia/Oceania final qualifying for World Junior Tennis 14/u all scored convincing wins on the second day of the week long competition in Kuching, Malaysia. First seeds Japan dropped only 11 games in beating qualifiers Pakistan 3-0. Second seeds India look to have a very powerful team as they conceded only 9 games in beating Philippines 3-0.

Host nation Malaysia fought hard in their tie keeping Thailand on court for an extended time but were unable to take a set going down 3-0 to the third seeds. Australia looked strong again as they quickly despatched Singapore 3-0.

Hong Kong China and Korea, seeded 6th and 7th respectively were severely tested in their second round ties. Vietnam, who won the Pre-qualifying tournament showed plenty of determination with Tien Nguyen taking out the top singles to level the tie 1-1 against Hong Kong. However Hong Kong were too strong in the doubles taking the tie 2-1 for their second victory.

The longest tie of the day featured 7th seeds Korea and Indonesia. Indonesia began strongly with Yoga Argi Syahputra taking the first match and then Alvin Edison going down to Korea's Sion Kwon in three sets. The doubles was an exciting match with the more consistent Korean pair winning 63 75 to give their team a 2-1 victory.

In the other ties China and Chinese Taipei recorded 3-0 victories over Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan respectively.
