London, UK, 08 Aug 2012 - Dr Garcia del Moral practices sports medicine in Valencia, Spain, and in that capacity has worked in the past with various tennis players.

In July 2012, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) imposed a lifetime ban on Dr Garcia del Moral for the following Anti-Doping Rule Violations:

(1) Possession of prohibited substances and/or methods including EPO, blood transfusions and related equipment, testosterone, hGH, corticosteroids, and masking agents.

(2) Trafficking of EPO, blood transfusions, testosterone, hGH, corticosteroids and masking agents to professional cyclists.

(3) Administration and/or attempted administration of EPO, blood transfusions, testosterone, hGH, corticosteroids, and masking agents to professional cyclists.

(4) Assisting, encouraging, aiding, abetting, covering up and other complicity involving one or more Anti-Doping Rule Violations and/or attempted Anti-Doping Rule Violations in professional cycling.

In accordance with Article 15.4 of the World Anti-Doping Code, and further to their longstanding commitment to protect the integrity of the sport of tennis and the health of all of the participants in the sport, the stakeholders to the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme recognise and respect USADA's decision, and will take all steps available to them to enforce and give effect to that decision in the sport of tennis, including (without limitation) not permitting Dr Garcia del Moral to participate in any capacity in, and denying him accreditation for or access to, any sanctioned tennis event or activity.

Players are asked to take careful note of the above when considering who to seek treatment, guidance and advice from in the future.
