Sri Lanka will play Malaysia and Thailand will play Australia in Sunday's men's and women's play-offs to decide which two nations will progress from the BNP Paribas Wold Team Cup Pre-qualifying event in Inida.
Top seeds Sri Lanka ensured that they finished top in the round-robin phase of the men's event after defeating host nation India 3-0 on Saturday.
Sunil Perera beat Balachandar Subramanian 61 61 and Dissanayake Gamini eased past Marriappan Durai 60 61 to cenent Sri Lanka's victory over Inida before Gamini partnered Upali Rajakaruna to give Sri Lanka a 61 60 victory over Harish Bist and Neera Yadav in the doubles rubber.
However, Sri Lanka had a much tougher time in the final round-robin tie in the women's event as Sarah Calati and Luba Josevski gained a 3-0 victory without dropping a game to secure Australia a place in the play-off against top seeds Thailand,
Calati beat Umesha Alahakoon and Josevski defeated Anosha Amaratunge in the two singles rubbers, before Calati and Josevski also dominated the doubles rubber against the same two Sri Lankan players.
