Khanna Tennis Stadium in New Delhi, the same venue used for the tennis event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Ratana Techamaneeweat defeated Umesha Aalahakoon and former world No. 6 Sakhorn Khanthasit beat Anosha Amaratunge, before Techamaneewat and Chusri Inthanin beat Alahakoon and Amaratunge to win the doubles rubber.
Friday’s second day of play in the women’s event will see Thailand take on Australia.
