The International Tennis Federation and Wilson Racquet Sports, manufacturers of DOUBLE CORE(TM) - the Official Ball of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, has expanded its relationship with the ITF to include the ITF Junior Circuit and Team Competitions.
From January 2002 through 2008, Wilson is the preferred tennis ball for the ITF Junior Circuit comprising 245 tournaments in 107 countries. Approximately 5,000 juniors worldwide participate in the ITF Junior Circuit each year.
Wilson is also the Official Tennis Ball for the ITF Junior Team Competitions which includes the 14 & Under, 16 & Under and 18 & Under Events. The 14 & Under Events (World Junior Tennis Competition) has five regional qualifying events with the Finals in 2006 taking place in Prostejov, Czech Republic from Monday 07 through to Saturday 12 August. The 16 & Under Competition has five regional qualifying events with the Finals in 2006 taking place in Barcelona, Spain from Tuesday 26 September through to Sunday 01 October. The 18 and Under Competition also has five regional qualifying events although this competition has been "on hold" since 2002.
