| Yang and Lertcheewakarn honoured at World Champions Dinner |
Tsung-Hua Yang (TPE) and Noppawan Lertcheewakarn (THA) were presented with their World Champions trophies at the World Champions Dinner in Paris on Tuesday evening.
The two World Champions attended the prestigious dinner with their family and friends, and were presented with their trophies by ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti.
Yang and Lertcheewakarn were rewarded for finishing 2008 top of the rankings. Both had very successful years. Yang captured his first Grand Slam title at Roland Garros, and was also a finalist at the Australian Open and semifinalist at the US Open. Yang also captured two Grand Slam doubles titles with countryman Cheng-Peng Hsieh, at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Lertcheewakarn claimed four singles titles and two doubles titles throughout the year. The 17-year old reached her first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, and won four events in Asia. She also took the US Open Doubles title alongside Sweden's Sandra Roma.
