THURSDAY - MARCUS

Hello everyone!!

Sadly this is my last blog now.

I did go to Wimbledon today to support the British girls - Broady and Robson, and to watch the british boys in the doubles. Lewis Barnes and James Marsalek - LEGENDS!! Well done to Robson and hard luck to the Broadz.

Today we experienced the real Wimbledon weather and it felt fantastic!!! Good old England.
Was however nice to be able to be a spectator even though I would have rather been playing on Court 18!!! Watched a great match - Tomic v Cunha, Tomic coming out on top.
Also the Fin Kontinen putting a good performance in on court 19.

Anyway il leave you all alone now.

Have enjoyed doing these blogs.

THURSDAY - LESLEY

Hello again. I'm blogging today from the media centre at Wimbledon. Arantxa and I have just finished our doubles match and have come in to do some interviews. We won our doubles match 62 62, which was great but it wasn't easy. We had a rain delay at 2-2 in the first set, then just as we won the final point of the match it started raining again, really heavily, so we had to run straight to the media building for cover! It was so lucky we managed to finish in time.

So, today I came on site this morning to watch Arantxa play her match, then I ate some lunch and sat and waited for our doubles. Next we have to play Curtis and Rae from Great Britain.

I really love Wimbledon. It's a very nice tournament, but it's definately not so good when it rains. Now we are going to go back up to the players' lounge and wait for our friend Richel Hogenkamp to play her doubles after the rain. Then we'll go back to the accomodation and get changed for dinner. I think tonight Arantxa, Richel and I are going out for dinner in Wimbledon Village with our coach Eddie and his girlfriend. I think it will be a really nice evening.

I will write again to let you know how we get on in our match tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY - MARCUS

Hi Everyone,

Had a very long day today, lost in 3 sets to Bernard Tomic 36 75 46 with 3 rain breaks, played well but didnt do enough to win! The chants of WILLBOMB did help me in the 2nd. Thanks Michael Thompson!

Yeh been a very good day of tennis as well, some good matches going on! The coolest man on the ITF tour Henri Kontinen took an 86 win in the 3rd! Also Grigor Dimitrov played amazing against Ty Trombetta, he won 60 61 in 36 minutes.
My good friends Lewis Barnes and James Marsalek took a good win in the doubles, 52 down in the 3rd us Brits are made of Steel! Vamos.

See you tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY - LESLEY

Hello again, I am doing the blog after a very long day, just after my physiotherapy session and before heading back to Roehampton.

It was quite a different day, because it was raining today. I was supposed to play as second match on court 14 after a 12:00 start. After a long delay, I only went on court around 17:00.

So before that I spent a lot of time in the player lounge and the locker room, warming up, then waiting, then warming up again and waiting even more. I like to listen to music then.

My mother was here with me and was watching the match, but my father had to go home to Zierikzee yesterday. So he will have followed it on the internet.

Even if I lost to Laura Robson today, it was a really good match and I am happy with my performance.
Laura and I, we know each other very well, because with Martijn Bok she has got a Dutch coach and we practise a lot together when we are at tournaments. I could have got a set, because I had setpoints in both sets... but she had all the British suppoters behind her and that maybe made the difference today.

But hey, I am still in the tournament in doubles and I am looking forward to coming back tomorrow and to play with Arantxa against Grymalska and Lalami.

I will be in touch then !!
Lesley

TUESDAY - MARCUS

Hello, I'm doing the blog today while I'm eating my tea, a meat sandwich, it's not too bad, actually the food here is pretty good but it's a bit expensive.

On the subject of food, last night I went out to dinner at a restaurant called Nandos, I'm all over the chicken, it's unbelievable.

This morning my coach, Victor Roubanov, came to pick me and Neil Pauffley up at 9.30am, then we practiced at 10.30 and I got pumped before my match against Hiroyasu Ehara. I played much better than yesterday and I won 64 62, I played like a legend! I'm going to have to be an extreme legend tomorrow when I play top seed Bernard Tomic. He just beat me and Pauffley in doubles so I'm out for revenge.

I've got to call a journalist after I've finished the blog, I'm so popular, everyone wants me, journalists, etc,!! (Only joking!)

The other guys here are giving away all of my nicknames, Will Bomb because of my big serve, and Meat Ball, because I used to have some excess baggage!! But I've been training hard to get rid of it so now I'm ripped! I might get mistaken for a super model because of my unbelievable six pack!

Well, that's enough for today, see ya tomorrow.

TUESDAY - LESLEY

Hi, I've had a great day today, I've just won my doubles match with Arantxa and earlier today I won my singles match against Linda Berlinecke.

After having the day off yesterday, because I played my first round singles on Saturday, it was a busy day today. Yesterday, I practiced with Arantxa and Richel (Hogenkamp) for a couple of hours, and we headed back to the university at about 5pm. We hung out in the evening, and passed some time on the internet, so a pretty relaxing day, so today was pretty different.

I didn't make a good start to my singles match today, I lost the first set 57 but I stayed calm and played alot better in the next to sets. I won the match 57 62 63 and I'm really happy, Arantxa also won her singles today, so the Dutch players are doing well.

I'll have to go now, it's 8.30pm and I only just finished my doubles, so I'll be back tomorrow...

MONDAY - MARCUS

Hi, I’m Marcus Willis and I’ll be blogging this week at Wimbledon.

Today I had a three hour grind on Court 19 against Giacomo Miccini from Italy. I’ve never played him before so I didn’t really know what to expect. I won the first set 63, I was all over him and I was still feeling pretty good at the start of the second set but he turned it round and started to play really well. He broke me at exactly the same point that I have broke him in the first set, at 43, obviously a good time to break, and he took the second set 63.

There were loads of people watching the match which was great, it gave me a lot of adrenaline which really helped me out in the third set. My serve is probably my best shot and it was working really well, which definitely helped a lot because I was winning my service games pretty easily. There were no breaks in the third set and it just went on and on……..until 10-9 with Miccini serving. He was 30-0 up but I played three good points to get to 30-40, match point and he missed a volley. It was such a great sensation, pretty much mostly relief I think, but it’s difficult to describe.

Last year I made it to the third round but this year is so much better because of the weather.

Right I’m off now to try to get my head down and focus on my match tomorrow, I’m playing Ehara from Japan.

I’ll give you some more info from Wimbledon tomorrow but I’m pretty done today after my marathon match!

See ya tomorrow

SATURDAY - LESLEY

Hello, I’m Lesley Kerkhove and I’m going to be your blogger for Wimbledon. I’m from Holland, a place called Zierikzee, it’s in the south of Holland. It’s my first time here in Wimbledon, it’s a really big tournament and it’s really nice.

I’m so happy that I won my first round match, I played Rebecca Marino from Canada, it was a tough match. I was 3-0 up in the first set but lost the set 6-3, she came back 3-1, then 3-2 and then we had a really long game, and she won that too and I didn’t win another game in the set. I won the second set 63 but went 3-1 down in the final set. She served for 4-1 but I broke for 3-2, I was so happy, it was a really good time to break then I held serve and broke her again to lead 4-3 and I finished up winning 64.

I really like grass, last week I reached the semis in Roehampton and that helped me because I had alot of matches last week.

After my match I had to do a TV interview so that was quite exciting. It was for a Dutch channel called Net 5 and they took me to the room of the TV centre. I got a really nice view of Wimbledon and all the courts.

I've been in London for a week now, I'm travelling with some other Dutch players, Xander Spong, Arantxa Rus, and Richel Hogenkamp and our coach Eddy Banks. We have explored the area a bit outside of Roehamton where we having been playing. We went for dinner in a restaurant called Wagamamas, it's like a noodle bar and the food was really good. It's nice to have a change from the same thing all the time.

Tomorrow we have the day off so we will practice together in preparation for Monday.

So that's all for today, I'll let you know how things go on Monday.
