| Girls seeds through whilst boys draw throws up surprise final in Milan |
Order was restored in the girls singles when third and tenth seeds, Bojana Jovanovski (SRB) and Simona Halep (ROU) made it through to the final against their unseeded opponents.
The opposite was the case in the boys draw where unseeded David Goffin (BEL) and Guido Pella (ARG) will do battle for the prestigious Grade A title.
Jovanovski made short work of her opponent Lina Berlinke (GER) in her semifinal, showing her superior experience to dispatch the German 63 61. Halep dashed hopes of a home victory by seeing off Italian Nastassja Burnett in even more convincing style 61 61.
The boys semifinals were another story with both going down to the wire. Goffin pulled back from losing to first set 26 to No.13 seed Henrique Cunha (BRA). The Belgian took the second set 64 and held on to his form to complete the victory 75 in the third.
Pella made it through to his first Grade A final by the skin of his teeth against Russian Andrey Kuznetsov. Like Goffin he lost the first set 36, fought back to take the second 62 before edging past Kuznetsov in a final set tiebreak 76 (5).
Cunha got some compensation by making the doubles final with Mexican Cesar Ramirez. They will take on the British pairing of Neil Pauffley and Marcus Willis in the final.
The girls doubles title went to Dutch pair Lesley Kerkhove and Arantxa Rus who defeated fellow Dutch girl Richel Hogenkamp and Brit Laura Robson 60 64 in the final.
