| Qualifying begins for ITF Junior Team Competitions |
Qualifying events for the World Junior Tennis Finals in August in Prostejov, Czech Republic, and Junior Davis Cup & Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in September in San Louis Potosi, Mexico, are being held in all continents in the first half of the year.
After the successful introduction of the Asia/Oceania pre-qualifying event for the 16 & under age category in 2007, the ITF and ATF are now launching the Asia/Oceania pre-qualifying event for the 14 & under boys’ age category, which will be staged in Kuching, Malaysia, the week commencing 25 February.
The first qualifying event for the 2008 ITF Junior Team Competitions takes place this week in La Libertad, El Salvador. Twelve boys’ and 11 girls’ teams will compete in the North/Central America & Caribbean pre-qualifying event of the World Junior Tennis Competition (14 & under). One boys’ and one girls’ team will join Canada, Mexico and USA at the final qualifying event to be held in Montreal, Canada in May.
Daily results from the Pre-Qualifying event in El Salvador will be available on the COTECC website at www.cotecc.org.sv.
