| Japan and Russia win Team Identification contest |
Prizes were awarded to the Boys team of Japan and the Russian Girls' team for their clothing meeting and exceeding Team Identification guidelines. This is the first year that this contest has taken place. According to the ITF style guidelines for Junior team competitions, all players and also team captains should have their country name marked clearly on the back of their T-shirt (or dress for girls) and the kit should be in the national colours. The same regulations apply for the Junior Davis and Junior Fed Cup competitions, where many of Prostejov's players hope to compete in the next couple of years.
For both boys and girls, there were a few teams shortlisted for the prize. In the boys, Russia and New Zealand were both considered against the eventual winner, Japan. Amongst the girls' teams South Africa, Ukraine and Chile were also front-runners. Boys' winners, Japan, wore a striking orange, red and white combination, while the Russian girls wore blue, white and red kits, complete with their national emblem, the double-headed eagle.
