| Seeds proceed at the Casablanca Cup |
Seeding in the girls' draw at the Grade A Casablanca Cup stood up to inspection with six of the top eight seeds making it to the last eight. The only seeds missing are No.2 seed Hsu, who lost in the second round and No.7 seed Mihaela Buznarescu, whose place in the last eight was taken by USA's Krysty Marcio with a 61 64 victory.
Unfortunately for the home crowd the last Mexican girl Ana Paula de la Pena was eliminated by German Justine Ozga. Despite putting up a valient fight, de la Pena was unable to stop the German who scored a 64 76(2) victory.
Top seed Yung-Jan Chan (TPE) and defending champion Julia Cohen (USA) both secured their quarterfinal spots with straight sets wins over their opponents, and they were joined by No.4 seed Dominika Cibulkova (SVK), No.5 seed Aleksandra Wozniak (CAN), No.6 seed Caroline Wozniacki (DEN) and No.8 seed Jennifer Heinser (USA).
In the boys' draw the bottom half of the second round was completed. Second seed Juan Martin Del Potro continued to impress, dispatching Mexico's Leonardo De Regules 61 64. His next opponent will be Holden Seguso (USA) who took three sets to see off Israel's Shay Sagie 75 26 60.
No Mexican made in through the bottom half, thus leaving Miguel Reyes Varela the last home player standing. Two boys' seeds also didn't make it though, in two all American clashes No.8 seed Dylan Arnold (USA) and No.9 seed Brian Koniecko, succumbed to Leo Rosemberg and Kellen Damico respectively. However, things are not looking too bad for the USA, they have eight players through to the last 16.
