Day Seven at the Casablanca Cup
Julia Cohen confirmed her No.1 seeding to take the girls’ singles titles whilst Phillip Simmonds made a clean sweep of the boys’ titles, adding the singles crown to the doubles he won yesterday.

Cohen continued in the final as she had progressed throughout the week, frustrating her opponents with her defensive game and retrieving every ball. Maraike Biglmaier knew what to expect but could do nothing to stop Cohen claiming her first Grade A title in one hour and 11 minutes 62 61.

The boys’ final was a battle of the big servers between Simmonds and Dutch boy Coen van Kuelen with Simmonds coming out on top. Van Keulen was never able to break the American’s serve, whilst Simmonds broke once to take the first set 64 and twice in the second to take the match 64 62 in one hour and three minutes.
