Dutch and Belgian pairings take doubles titles
Clijsters joins Flipkens for a Grand Slam double.

Elke Clijsters notched up her second Grand Slam girls’ doubles title in a row after she paired up with fellow Belgian Kirsten Flipkens to win the junior US Open trophy. Clijsters won the girls’ doubles at Wimbledon with Barbora Strycova and she and Flipkens were in impressive form, beating Americans Shadisha Robinson and Tory Zawacki 6-1, 6-3.

Dutch pair Michel Koning and Bas Van der Valk captured their first Grand Slam title and fifth title of the year by ousting USA’s Brian Baker and Aussie Chris Guccione 6-4 6-4 to take the US doubles crown.
