The best news for the home supporters came with the victory of Bruno Rosa over No.8 seed Robert Cameron in straight sets 62 61. Agnes Szavay (HUN) continued her giant killing act and secured herself the only other quarterfinal place for a non-seeded player. Having already seen off the No.1 seed Beier Ko in the first round, Szavay's latest victim was Megan Moulton-Levy (USA) who she quickly dispatched 61 62.
