This week has been a special experience for 32-year-old Jorgen Vestli as he leads the first ever Norwegian team at the Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Vestli, who comes from Hamar, Norway, went to university in the United States, first at the University of South Alabama, and then moving on to the University of the Pacific in California.
During his collegiate career, Vestli posted a 132-51 win-loss record. And he spent time in the classroom as well, earning a degree in Business Administration. After a number of years of coaching in California, Vestli returned to Norway and now works with a number of the country’s juniors. His young team features Viktor Durasovic, Casper Ruud and Fredrik Moe.
