Sri Lanka and Vietnam girls’ teams have both qualified for the Asia/Oceania Final Qualifying event in Kuching, Malaysia, after comprehensive victories over Kygyzstan and Turkmenistan respectively. Neither team has lost a set in their round robin group, while Vietnam’s Minh Phuong Nguyenngoc has dropped just two games in her two singles victories.

Sri Lanka and Vietnam will face off tomorrow in the last day of the round robin girls’ event for a chance to claim top spot at the pre-qualifying event.  Regardless of the result both teams have qualified for the Final Qualifying event in Malaysia from 15-20 April.

In the boys’ event there are still plenty of matches to be played before determining the teams who will progress to the Final Qualifying event. The three seeds have won all their ties thus far but it’s still all to play for with only two teams able to advance to Final Qualifying.
