Rising Korean junior player, Seong Chan Hong, has lifted the trophy in Seogwipo after defeating tenth seed Young Seok Kim (KOR) in the boys' singles final, 67(3) 63 76(0).

The final was a little tough because of the weather conditions. Seogwipo city is located in Jeju Island and can experience very high winds. However, the weather could not break his spirit.

“I am very happy to win this tournament. It was tough and lucky as well because of the weather conditions today. I will try my best for the Grand Slams next year, and I am expecting a good result.”

There was no unexpected result in the girls singles final. No.1 seed Ching-Wen Hsu (TPE) won the trophy beating Katherine Ip (HKG) in the final.  The first set was a closely fought affair with Ip getting off to a great start to take a 51 lead before Hsu was able to turn the match around. Hsu edged Ip in the first set tie-break to take the first set, continuing her new-found good form in the second set to demolish Ip and take the title 76 (3) 60.

The boys' doubles final was a closely fought affair. Nobody was able to anticipate the result until the last ball dropped on the court. The Australian duo of Jay Andrijic and Bradley Mousley took victory defeating Siyu Liu and Weijiang Zheng (CHN) in a nail-biting match tie-break, 67(6) 63 119.

Ziyue Sun and Qiu Yu Ye of China took the girls' doubles title with a straight sets win over the Japanese pairing of Mami Adachi and Ayaka Okuno, 63 76(1).
