Nan Ying Cup singles award ceremony

The Grade 3 Nan Ying Cup took place last week with some of the top Asian players competing for the clay court title.

The boys' singles final saw Tortakul Teeradon of Thailand defeat Japan's Ochi Makoto 64 76. Teeradon suffered cramps in the second set and said that luck and confidence played a huge part in his win. This is Teeradon's first clay court title.

Two players from Chinese Taipei faced off in the girl's final, with Yuchia Chen prevailing in straight sets over En-Pei Huang, 60 63. Chen knocked out top seed Ya-Ting Chang (TPE) in the first round before cruising through the subsequent rounds without the loss of a set to take her first ITF title.

Both doubles titles were claimed in straight sets by Chinese Taipei partnerships. The boys' doubles title was won by Yu-Ju Chung and Ching-Huang Tsai while the girls' title was won by singles finalist En-Pei Huang and partner Yi-Chi Ma.

All winners and runners-up were awarded gifts and custom made Koji Pottery trophies.
