ITN at Special Olympics
In Unified Doubles a special athlete teams with a regular athlete. To make the teams, level of game, gender and age had to be considered.

To define the level of game, Special Olympics have a set of drills that they apply. The El Salvador Tennis Federation suggested using the ITN. So the day before the competition, the ITN was applied to all the athletes, special and regular, and the teams were grouped according to those values.

The event was a success. Good matches were played with every one hading fun and gaving their best efforts. At the end of the event the El Salvador Tennis Federation met with the Tennis Advisory Group for Special Olympics of Latin America to discuss the competition. It was a consensus that the ITN has been proven to be a great tool to rate the players and to integrate. ITN will continue to be the tool to rate the tennis players at Special Olympics in Latin America.
