Next tie 2014
Sri Lanka will play in Asia/Oceania Group II for a third year running in 2014 after winning a relegation play-off against Lebanon.
Last tie 5-7 April 2013
Sri Lanka fought off stern resistance from Lebanon to retain its place in Asia/Oceania Group II. Bassam Beidas won both of his singles rubbers for Lebanon to force a live fifth rubber after Harshana Godamanna and Rajeev Rajapakse had combined to put Sri Lanka 2-1 ahead. Sri Lanka's Dineshkanthan Thanangarajah finished the job, defeating Karim Alayali in straight sets.
History
Sri Lanka has reached the Asia/Oceania Zone Group II second round on six occasions, in 1995 and also between 1989 and 1992. Sri Lanka holds the record for the most decisive victory in a Davis Cup tie played over five rubbers, defeating Syria in 1991 for the loss of just six games.
