Next tie 2014
Italy will play in the first round of the World Group for the third straight year in 2014.
Last tie 5-7 April 2013
Italy missed out on its first World Group semifinal since 1998 after falling to Canada 3-1 in Vancouver. Andreas Seppi gave the visitors a 1-0 lead after defeating Vasek Pospisil in five sets in the opening rubber, only for Milos Raonic to win both of his two singles rubbers and Pospisil and Daniel Nestor to pull off a thrilling five-set doubles win over Daniele Bracialli and Simone Bolelli to secure the hosts' second ever World Group win.

He holds the record for playing the most rubbers (164), as well as the records for the most wins in both singles (78-32) and doubles (42-12). He also forms half of the most successful doubles partnership with Orlando Sirola (34-8).
