Next tie 2014
France will make its 16th consecutive World Group appearance in 2014 after falling in the 2013 quarterfinals.
Last tie 5-7 April 2013
France lost to Argentina for the first time in six meetings in the World Group quarterfinals in Buenos Aires. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga helped France level the tie at 2-2 after his two singles rubber wins cancelled out Juan Monaco's win over Gilles Simon and Horacio Zeballos and Davis Nalbandian's doubles triumph against Michael Llodra and Julien Benneteau. With Carlos Berlocq up against Simon in the final rubber, it was the Argentine who came up with a big performance, ripping his shirt open in delight after sending the hosts into the semifinals in four sets.
History
France are joint-third on the all-time list of champions having won the title nine times, most recently in 2001. They have also finished runners-up on seven occasions, including in 2010 when they were defeated by Serbia 3-2 in the Final.
