Davis Cup Chinese social media platforms go live

The ITF’s new Davis Cup Chinese social media platforms on Sino Weibo and Tencent WeChat have gone live today:

This is a continuation of the ITF’s partnership with Red Lantern Digital Media to launch social media platforms in China following the roll-out of the ITF social accounts earlier this month to coincide with the Youth Olympic Tennis Event in Nanjing.

The Davis Cup platforms have been launched in advance of next month’s Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinals and play-offs on 12-14 September.

ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti said: “We know that the Chinese people love tennis and it is great to share information about our activities with them, including our flagship competitions Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas. Following the successful launch of the ITF social media accounts earlier this month, we look forward to furthering our relationship with our Chinese audience through our major team competitions.”

The ITF and Red Lantern will roll out accounts on the same platforms for Fed Cup by BNP Paribas later this year.

Lewis Hannam, managing director of Red Lantern, said: “We are excited about helping the ITF engage with tennis fans in China. The ITF does great grassroots work in China, and we are looking forward to showcasing that via social channels, as well as capturing the excitement of global events such as the Davis Cup.”
