The ITF has announced the line-ups for the 2013 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Final that will take place on 2-3 November at the Tennis Club Cagliari on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.
Hosts Italy have named the four highest-ranked players at their disposal and as such will go into next weekend's denouement as the clear favourites.
Corrado Barazzutti has made just one change from the quartet that won April's semifinal, bringing in Karin Knapp to replace Fed Cup stalwart Francesca Schiavone.
Knapp earns her third nomination, having played in just one Fed Cup tie previously in 2008, when she lost both the rubbers she contested. She was also nominated in the first round this year against USA but her services were not required.
Undoubtedly Barazzutti will call upon his favoured duo of Sara Errani and Roberta Vinci, who between them have won all of Italy's points in 2013. The former received treatment at the WTA's year-end championships in Istanbul on Monday but Italy can rest safe in the knowledge that Flavia Pennetta, who reached the US Open semifinals, is as good a back up as you can have.
Russia's team will have its work cut out if it is to score a fifth title win, as Shamil Tarpischev has named a youthful side, including 2011 ITF Junior World Champion Irina Khromacheva and 2010 Junior Fed Cup champion Margarita Gasparyan.
Leading out the Russians will be world No. 138 Alexandra Panova and former Top 20 player Alisa Kleybanova.
The Final starts on Saturday 2 November. You can follow all of the build-up on FedCup.com.
