Play-off contenders decided in Americas III

LA PAZ, BOLIVIA: Paraguay and Costa Rica, seeded No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, didn’t fail in the group stages of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Americas Zone Group III event in La Paz and this Saturday they will play against Bahamas and Bolivia in the play-offs, with the winning two teams moving up to Zone Group II in 2014.

Both favourites, however, only finished second in their groups and will have a challenge if they are to earn promotion.

In Pool A, Bolivia finished first with three points, while Paraguay had two. Then came Jamaica (one point) and Cuba (no points).

In Pool B, Bahamas finished with four points, Costa were second with two points and a set average of +4. Honduras (0) and Panama (-2) also finished with two points in the round-robin but no their route in the competition ended. Bermuda finished with no points.
