Podcast: Semifinal was worth the wait

This year's Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinals and play-offs featured two ties that were forced into a Monday finish by inclement weather in southern Europe.

The semifinal clash between Italy and Czech Republic in Sicily picked up with the Italians leading 2-1 and Roberta Vinci clinched the vital third point in a thrilling encounter against Lucie Safarova that went the distance.

Over the border in Switzerland no play had been possible all weekend and in a move to finish the matches as quickly as possible the singles rubbers were contested simultaneously.

Australia finished off the hosts in perfect time as the heavens opened once more and rain came falling down as soon as the last ball was hit.

Chris Bowers reviews all the action here.
