GENEVA, SWITZERLAND: It sounds like Czech captain Jaroslav Navratil will call on his talisman Tomas Berdych for Saturday's doubles with the Swizz-Czech tie poised at 1-1.

In talking with journalist Richard Fleming, Navratil hints at a Berdych-Rosol partnership for the crucial doubles rubber as the defending champions attempt to gain the advantage in this tie.

Across the fence, Swiss captain Severin Luthi reviews the day's action and has some words of advice for his No. 1 Stanislas Wawrinka.

“I’m really proud of my boys, they put in a great performance...Henri did his maximum and shows he’s a promising young guy in our team.”

“Everyone’s still talking about that Djokovic match [at the Australian Open], but the most important thing is for Stan to move on and take it match by match.”

Wawrinka was clinical in his 64 63 64 victory over Czech Lukas Rosol in the opening rubber of his nation's first round encounter with the defending champions. By giving Switzerland the early lead the pressure was on for  Berdych against Swiss debutant Henri Laaksonen, who pushed the world No. 6 to four sets.

“I was controlling the game and then unfortunately when I had two break points right in the first game of the third set he brings some really good first serves," explains Berdych. "He was able to keep serving like that until the end and it was very hard to break him or even make the tiebreak.”
