ITF/COTECC Regional Training Camp (Cuba):


The Cuban Tennis Federation hosted the second combined ITF/COTECC Regional Training Camp. Justin Roberts, Erin Strachan (BAH), Tyler Smith (BER), Joel Lutchman (SUR), Chassidy King (ANT), Pierre Enel Brimaire and coach Christy Cherry (HAI) benefitted from the high level and quality coaching from Juan Antonio Pino, Wilfredo Henry and Belkis Rodriguez (CUB). Grand Slam Development Funding (GSDF):


Turks and Caicos benefitted from US $15,000 to assist in the construction of their National Tennis Centre, which will include a mini tennis court. The long awaited centre, on its completion, will boost the Federation's Junior Tennis Initiative. Coaches Education:


The Antigua and Barbuda Tennis Association will host an ITF Play Tennis Tutors' Course together with a Play Tennis Course funded by Olympic Solidarity, which is scheduled from 20-25 November 2009. The main objective of the course is to help nations put in place a structured system of coaches' education from the basic level. Invitations will be sent to nations soon.

Suriname will be organizing its first Play Tennis Course from 16-18 October 2009. The course will be conducted by Mr. John Goede (SUR), an ITF expert. Play and Stay:


The Cayman Islands organized the Walker Play and Stay from 25-27 September 2009, the objective of which is to encourage U18 and less confident players, which also included sessions for coaches, parents and other interested people. Players Highlights:

Darian King continues to do well by reaching the singles quarter-finals and also won the doubles with Brandon Burke (JAM) in the US Junior International Hard Court Championships Grade 2 (New Jersey). Rodney Carey and Brandon Burke were accepted into the qualifying round of the Junior US Open and got to the second and third round respectively.
