ITF 13 & Under Caribbean Development Championships


Defending Champions Antigua and Barbuda will defend their position at the Development Championships, which are scheduled be held in Trinidad and Tobago (Tobago) from 17-22 August. Fifteen nations have entered,  maintaining the high level of participation over the last three years.

 

 

 

ITF Junior Circuit


Gian Issa (SUR) continued to show dominance in the ITF boys' 14 & under circuit with victories in Barbados, Cuba, Bahamas, Aruba and St. Maarten. He also won the doubles, partnered with Justin Roberts (BAH) in all the events except Bahamas where they reached the semi-finals.

Darian King (BAR) won the Bahamas International by defeating his doubles partner, Rodney Carey (BAH). He also won St. Maarten, which has improved his ITF ranking to #115. For more information and results on the junior circuit please click on the following link: www.cotecc.org.sv

 

Play and Stay


The Tennis Association of Trinidad & Tobago, in conjunction with the Ministry of Sports of Trinidad and Tobago, completed the second stage of the Play and Stay shape the community programme on Sunday 19 July in St. Babb's, Laventille, Trinidad. The programme continues to pick up momentum as it moves into the final stage in Betham, Laventille in September. For more information please click on the following link: www.tennistt.com 

 

 

Grand Slam Development Fund (GSDF)


The GSDF is designed to assist players directly either through participating in touring teams or receiving travel grants to gain international competitive experience. Six players have already benefitted for 2009 in order to compete in the Junior Circuits: Darian King (BAR), Rodney Carey (BER), Gian Issa (SUR), Simone Pratt (BAH), Stephanie Marchena (ARU) and Yannik James (GRN).
