ITF Touring Teams
ITF continues to assist the best and most promising juniors in the region to be part of the ITF Junior Touring Teams. Based on their performance, commitment and discipline, Kerrie Cartwright (Bah), Darian King (Bar) and Gian Issa (Sur) from the English Speaking Caribbean have been given the opportunity to be part of the ITF Touring Team to COSAT Circuit in South America 2008. The players will begin with a four day training camp from 10 January in Colombia, followed by four weeks of competition; Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia concluding on 10 February, 2008. The Coaches are Ivan Molina (ITF Coach) and Carlos Rodriguez (ITF Development Officer for Central America). For more information on the ITF Touring Team Programme please click here.
Coaches Education
The 15th World Wide Coaches Conference took place at the Hotel Resort Casino Yacht & Golf Club in Asuncion Paraguay from 22-28 October 2007. For further information, please click here.
Level 1 Course
Netherlands Antilles organized a Level 1 Coaches Course from 10-18 November 2007. Sixteen participants took part in the course; Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, St. Maarten and St Eustatius.
icoach Launched The ITF launched a new coaching website called ‘Tennis icoach’ The comprehensive website is designed to deliver the very best coaching and playing information to tennis coaches, players and enthusiasts around the world. For further information please click here.
ITF Junior Tennis Initiative (JTI)
I would like to remind member nations to submit your End of Year Report, which was due on December 31 2007 please. To learn more about the programme please click here.
ITF EDP Programme
The EDP Programme continues to assist and encourage developing ITF member nations to have a JTI programme by providing free equipment to support the programme. Please remember that to be eligible to receive equipment assistance, you should submit your 5 year plan (2007-2011). For more information on the EDP programme please click here.
International Players Identification Number (IPIN)
Junior IPIN: A new initiative for the ITF Junior Circuit was launched on 5th December 2007. Juniors can now register by clicking here for their own unique IPIN. All players entering 2008 ITF Junior Circuit tournaments need to have a Junior IPIN. For further information please click here.
ITF Junior Tennis School
The ITF is planning to launch a worldwide programme related to player education on tennis-related matters early in 2008 called the ITF Junior Tennis School-E-learning website. The e-learning website will consist of 17 modules in three languages on tennis related topics. To have a preliminary view please click here.
