Clean sweep for ITF/ATF Asian team in Europe
Three ITF 14 & under teams, comprising 31 players from 18 countries, completed a successful five-week trip to Europe at the weekend. They won 12 titles and contested 15 finals on the ITF Tour to Young Stars, part of the Tennis Europe 14 & under circuit.

The ITF/ATF Asian team was by far the most successful squad, accounting for all 12 titles. The Chinese pairing of Siqi Cao and Jiaqi Ren won the girls' doubles at the first four tournaments in Paris, Velp, Rueil-Malmaison and Cologne. Cao also lifted the girls’ singles trophy in Rueil-Malmaison and in Hasselt in the final week. Teammates Do Hee Bae (KOR) and Napharat Sawangkaew (THA) were girls' doubles finalists in Hasselt and reached the semifinals in Rueil-Malmaison.

The boys’ singles titles at four of the events were shared between Koreans Yun-Seong Chung and Chan-Yeong Oh, and Tung-Lin Wu (TPE), all ATF team members. Wu and Djurabek Karimov (UZB) were also boys’ doubles finalists at the BNP Paribas Cup in Paris.

The ITF/COSAT team’s best performances were Antonioni Fasano (BRA) winning the boys' consolation event in Paris and Camila Vargas Gomez (PER) taking the girls' consolation title in Rueil-Malmaison. Rafaella Baquerizo (ECU) and Cindy Oest (PAR) were girls’ doubles semifinalists in Rueil and Hasselt.

ITF/CAT team members Hana Mortagy (EGY) and Chisomo Lumeta (MAW) were runners-up in the girls’ and boys’ singles consolation events respectively in Velp. Teammate Sara Ismail (EGY) reached the girls’ doubles final with her partner Ines Ibbou (ALG) in Rueil-Malmaison before being defeated by Chinese players Cao and Ren.

The junior touring teams are part of the ITF Development Programme, which is financed by the ITF and the Grand Slam Development Fund. The teams provide a unique opportunity for players from South America, Africa and Asia to gain experience and compare their skills against the best European players.
