| Nigeria and Benin dominate in Senegal |
Nigeria and Benin dominated at the ITF/CAT West & Central Africa 12 and 14 & Under Circuit, at the Domaine de Nianing in Senegal. 40 boys and 24 girls from 11 countries participated in the circuit, which comprised two five-day tournaments.
In the 14 & under age group, Benin’s Ahounou Anicette won both girls’ singles and doubles titles partnered by Vitou Pascaline (BEN), while the boys’ singles titles went to Nigeria’s Emmanuel Sylvetser. The first boys’ doubles title was won by Malians Maiga Yacouba and Diarra Amadou and the second went to Dominique Gandonou (BEN) and Emmanuel Sylvester.
In the 12 & under category, Vitou Pascaline triumphed in both girls' singles events while in the boys’ Seydou Aliyou (NIG)took the first title and Timi Godsgift (NGR) captured the second. The boys’ doubles titles were shared between the Cote d’Ivoire pairing comprising Frederic Coulibaly and Cyril Lago in the first leg and Seydou Aliyou and Timi Godsgift in the second.
Omar Diallo, Tournament Director said: “Year after year this tournament is becoming more prestigious by having many participants. Thanks to the ITF/CAT for trusting us and giving us the opportunity to host such an event.”
