Professional Tournaments

Grants are available from the Grand Slam Development Fund to go towards the prize money to assist less developed tennis nations in hosting entry-level and professional events for men and women. This helps to increase competitive opportunities in less developed tennis regions around the world.

In 2015, the Fund assisted with the prize money for a total of 26 men's and women's tournaments.

In addition to international professional events, six ITF / CAT Prize Money Circuit events were funded in Africa. GSDF prize money grants of between $1,600 and $2,500 were awarded to each host nation, which had to contribute a minimum of between $1,275 and $2,000 to the total prize money, depending on which events were offered at the tournament. These events are open solely to African players and aim to provide competitive opportunities for juniors and seniors alike that do not yet have the level to compete in Satellite and Futures events in the region. In 2015, the following events took place as part of the ITF / CAT African Prize Money Circuit:

Date Region Event
22 February West Africa Senegal
4 March West Africa Mali
18 November West Africa Senegal
9 December West Africa Mauritania
15 December West Africa Togo
