MUNICH, GERMANY: The Italian duo of Vittorio Cenacchi and Michele Mariotti claimed the men's title with a hard fought three set victory over their compatriots Luca Fontana and Stefano Tinarelli.

Their 64 16 [10-7] triumph brought an end to a run of three successive rounds of straight sets wins for the unseeded pair but for their opponents, who had come through a qualifying event, this was their third match, including a first round win over the German top seeds Alex Bailer and Oliver Munz, in the main draw to go the distance from four rounds of action.

Three sets were also required to separate the finalists in the women's event which saw teams from Hungary and the Czech Republic pitted against one another.

The top seeded Hungarians, Monika Erdelyi and Aniko Kovacs, took the title with a close 63 46 [10-7] win over their third-seeded opponents Eva Brozova and Jana Deylova.
