BOURNEMOUTH, GREAT BRITAIN: Great Britain holds its first ITF Beach Tennis Tour event in Bournemouth on 18-19 August. It will be a Grade 4 tournament and will give the British players a taste of beach tennis at an international level.

The event is being hosted by the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) alongside Beach Tennis UK who have been developing the sport on a national level for the past few years. Following several successful events and ever growing participation numbers in Great Britain this event is one not to be missed.

Alongside the ITF sanctioned men’s and women’s doubles events, which offer ITF world ranking points, there will be a mixed doubles event and a consolation draw to ensure players get the most out of the weekend.

If you’re new to the sport and just want to find out what all the fuss is about, there will also be free coaching sessions and free sand fitness sessions throughout the weekend. There will also be a DJ and music playing as the true spirit of beach tennis hits the British coastline.

Don't worry if diving around the sand is not for you, you can still enjoy the vibrant beach tennis spirit with a cold drink in your hand and the music playing as sun, sand and sport come together for a great weekend’s entertainment.

Entry Procedure

Entries are open to all competitors and should be made on the official entry form by 18.00 local time on Saturday 4 August. For more details on this event see the fact sheet here. To see the full Beach Tennis Tour calendar, click here.
