BORGO MAGGIORE, SAN MARINO: This village, with its stunning views of the Adriatic coast of Rimini takes over from 2011 hosts Albena, Bulgaria as the venue for the European Beach Tennis Championships V.
Play at these Championships is due to get underway on Friday 31 August and will continue through to Sunday 2 September.
A total of 20 nations are expected to compete for the title at these Championships. This record number of entries includes first time entrants Hungary.
The previous four editions of these Championships have been dominated by the strong Italians but with the ever increasing number of participants and tournaments around the globe, will we see a new nation break through? The home nation, 2011 semifinalists in the men’s doubles, will surely be among the main challengers to the Italians' reign.
