Grand Slam® tournaments
The Grand Slam tournaments - Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open - are the four most prestigious individual competitions in tennis.

The ITF sanctions and works closely with the four Grand Slams tournaments through its presence on the Grand Slam Committee, and supports each event with administrative, officiating and media services.

Four of the ITF’s leading National Associations - Tennis Australia, French Tennis Federation, United States Tennis Association and, in the case of Wimbledon, a joint Committee of Management consisting of The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club and Lawn Tennis Association - own and organise these independent cornerstones of the sport.

In 1989, the Grand Slam tournaments joined forces for the first time to form the Grand Slam Committee which, among other responsibilities, administers the Grand Slam rules.

The four Grand Slam tournaments, plus the Japan Open, Italian Championships and International Championships of Spain, are all Official Championships of the ITF.
