
Below you will find an example of just some of the activities that National Associations put on across the globe in honour of World Tennis Day:
Argentina
The Argentine Tennis Association closed the widest road in the world, Avenida 9 de Julio, in Buenos Aires on Sunday 3 March to showcase a Tennis10s Exhibition involving more than 40 tennis clubs from 10:00 until 13:00 (local time).
Bahamas
BLTA hosted a Tennis10s mini-Tennis Jamboree featuring Private and Primary School students between the ages of 7-10 years.
Bahrain
There was a program of activities on Monday 4 March which included a youth tennis tournament, an open seminar and a dinner party for all participants.
Barbados
Tennis10s festival with matchplay, free ITN rating assessments and a speed of serve competition at the National Tennis Centre on Sunday 3 March at 08:30 until late (local time).
Belarus
To celebrate World Tennis Day the Belarus Tennis Federation hosted a national championships for men and women from Tuesday 26 February until Sunday 3 March. On Wednesday 27 February there was a Tennis10s demonstrations in Minsk and from Thursday 7 March to Sunday 10 March there was a Veterans' Event.
Brazil
Tennis10s demonstrations during the WTA Event in Florianopolis. There was a demonstration before the final and an opportunity for visitors to take part in Tennis10s. Free lessons, clinics and tournaments run by coaches across Brazil.
Bulgaria
On Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March there was a special Tennis10s tournament in Sofia.
Cambodia
There was a National Tennis10s Fun Day for local children on Sunday 3 March between 09:00-12:00 (local time) at the Beeline Arena. The festival was shown on national television.
Chile
On Saturday 2 March Chilean Davis Cup players took part in a free tennis clinic for players aged between six and 12 during the Copa MILO tournament.
Czech Republic
TK Sparta Praha hosted a Tennis 10s festival with free tennis for the public on 4 March.
Dominican Republic
Between 1 and 4 March, the Dominican Tennis Federation promoted World Tennis Day with a calendar of events around the country. This included events for all ages and abilities.
Ecuador
Former ATP professional players Nicolas Lapentti and Andres Gomez invited the public to play with them for free on Monday 4 March.
Fiji
A Tennis10s festival was held in Lautoka on Sunday 3 March.
Great Britain
On Monday 4 March, British Tennis visited a primary school which was announced as the 15,000th school supported by the Aegon Schools Tennis Programme. Some of Britain’s top players were present to help with the celebrations.
Hong Kong
The BNP Paribas Showdown featuring Agnieszka Radwanska, Caroline Wozniacki, John McEnroe and Ivan Lendl had a Tennis10s demonstration before play started. There was also a Tennis10s Exhibition on Sunday 3 March in Stanley.
Iceland
A school for disabled children was invited to take part in a World Tennis Day celebration on Monday 4 March.
Iran
Children from 130 schools played in a Tennis10s event on Wednesday 6 March, where they received free equipment from the Iran Tennis Federation. On Friday 8 March there was a Tennis10s day, with more than 100 mini courts set up in Tehran at the OPT Tennis Academy - the largest tennis centre in west Asia.
Libya
Sport City in Tripoli was open to the public from 15:00 to 19:00 (local time) on Monday 4 March. There was a Tennis10s festival and a Play & Stay Event for adults.
Mauritius
There was a Tennis10s festival for schools involving more than 500 children on Monday 4 March.
Mexico
On Sunday 3 March, there was a Tennis10s exhibition that took place in the main square in Zócalo, Mexico City.
Namibia
Schoolchildren were invited to take part in an afternoon of tennis on Monday 4 March at the Central Tennis Club, at the National Centre in Windhoek.
New Zealand
Clubs and schools around the country ran local, mass participation events.
Nicaragua
There was a national junior tennis tournament on Saturday 2 March and Sunday 3 March.
Norway
There was a presentation about tennis to 54 different sports federations and organisations within Norway, followed by a social competition and a Tennis10s demonstration.
Paraguay
A World Tennis Day Tennis10s exhibition took place at the Club Internacional de Tenis in Asuncion on Saturday 2 March.
Peru
Tennis clubs and schools across many provinces in Peru held free coaching and a Tennis10s exhibition on Sunday 3 March at 11:00. There was also a Tennis10s event in Lima from Tuesday 12 March until Saturday 16 March.
Portugal
Nationwide events were held to promote Tennis10s in clubs, schools, shopping centres and public spaces on 2-4 March.
Serbia
There was a Tennis10s promotion in the two biggest shopping malls in Belgrade, during which there was a "happy hour" giveaway of tennis equipment. As well as initiatives countrywide and national television on the morning of Monday 4 March there was also a tennis matinee at the Novak Djokovic Tennis Academy.
Uruguay
The Carrasco Lawn Tennis Club in Montevideo hosted a Tennis10s exhibition with children from around the country invited to attend on Monday 4 March.
USA
There was a 10 and Under Tennis demonstration before the BNP Paribas Showdown in Madison Square Garden, New York, which featured Rafael Nadal, Juan Martin del Potro, Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka.
This forms part of Tennis Night in America - a celebration that launches more than 5,000 tennis festivals throughout the month of March designed to get kids active and excited about tennis. These events have contributed to the overall growth in youth participation in the sport.
