BURNIE, AUSTRALIA: Following on from her impressive display at her maiden Grand Slam appearance which saw her come through qualifying and reach the last 32 this month, 15-year-old Marta Kostyuk returns to ITF Pro Circuit action at a $60,000 event this week.

Kostyuk made use of the Junior Exempt Project to gain main draw entry in Burnie and was drawn against former Top 100 ranked player Irina Khromacheva.

The teenager though continued her fine run of form to see off the challenge from the Russian fifth seed with fifteen ITF Pro Circuit singles to her name - and a further 22 doubles titles - in straight sets, winning 63 75.

The draw has also opened up favourably for the Ukrainian with all seeds in her half of the draw eliminated in the opening round and next up will be a second round encounter with American Jennifer Elie who came through a tough three-setter with Britain's Laura Robson.

Will Kostyuk add to her sole ITF Pro Circuit title win from May 2017 here in Australia this week?  You can follow her progress, and that of all other competitors, online using the live score feature on our home page and also via our new-look mobile app.
