Salinas, a coastal city located on the western tip of Ecuador’s Santa Elena province and known for its popular beaches, will welcome players once again as the ITF Beach Tennis Tour returns for the second successive year.

One of those beaches, San Lorenzo, will be the destination the players and beach tennis fans will head for on 2-4 March for a $15,000+H tournament, 12 months on from when Alessandro Calbucci, Michele Cappelletti, Sofia Cimatti and Flaminia Daina tasted success in the Ecuadorian city. Calbucci and Cappelletti will also be teaming up to defend their 2017 title.

“Salinas is getting ready to welcome the best beach tennis players on the professional tour,” said Tournament Director Fabian Valdivieso.

“This year we strive higher than last year and aim to offer an even greater experience for both the public and the pros."

After the late January event held in Santos, Brazil, this will be the second tournament at this prize money level to take place in the South American continent this year and the first in Ecuador.

For those of you not fortunate enough to be able to attend this tournament in person, it is hoped that live streaming will be provided from the quarterfinals onwards and fans should check out www.beachtennissalinas.com nearer the time.

However, if you are attending, we’d love to see your photos from the tournament and you can share these on social media by following our official Twitter and Facebook accounts and then tagging us and the hashtag #ITFbeach in your posts.
