CHISWICK, GREAT BRITAIN: It took 27-year-old Vitalia Diatchenko six match points to win her first title of the year, but she finally got over the line - defeating No. 2 seeded Slovakian Viktoria Kuzmova to win the $25,000 ITF Women's circuit title in Chiswick.

In just her fourth tournament of 2017 after an injury-ridden year, the unseeded right-hander took just over 90 minutes to claim a 63 64 triumph.

Diatchenko, who was ranked as high as No. 71 in 2014, was delighted to bounce back from a tough year with a title.

"I am happy to get some wins and to finish the week by winning the title," she said. "I have had to have two surgeries this year so it’s been a tough year for me."

This title was the eleventh of her career on the ITF Pro Circuit and a first since a 2015 triumph, also in London, at the $50,000 Surbiton tournament. Diatchenko also has one WTA title to her name.

The doubles title went to the No. 3 seeded pairing of Laura-Ioana Andrei (ROU) and Julia Wachaczyk (GER), who defeated No. 1 seeds Katy Dunne (GBR) and Elitsa Kostova (BUL), 75 75.
