The field for the 2017 Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in Budapest, Hungary on 19-24 September has been confirmed following the completion of this week’s European qualifying events.

Teams from 23 different nations will take part across the 16-draw boys’ and girls’ events in the Hungarian capital, with nine nations - Argentina, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Morocco, Russia and USA  - set to field teams in both of the boys’ and girls’ events.

Russia, who won the Junior Davis Cup for the first time last year, will be back to defend the boys’ crown this year, but last year’s Junior Fed Cup winners Poland miss out after failing to come through their European pre-qualifying event in Galati, Romania last week.

USA is the only team set to participate in this year’s Junior Fed Cup Finals to have won the event in any of the last three years’, with their 2017 team looking to replicate the success of a CiCi Bellis-led USA in the Final in San Luis Potosi, Mexico in 2014.

Burundi is set for a milestone debut as the nation prepares to field a team at September’s Finals for the first time in the girls’ competition.

It will also be a special appearance for Belgium’s boys’, who have qualified for the Junior Davis Cup Finals for the first time in 21 years, with their last appearance in the finals coming all the way back in 1996.
