South American Qualifying for Junior Davis and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas qualifying took place last week in Bogota, Colombia on 17-22 April.

Ten boys' and ten girls' under-16 teams were battling it out for one of three places in each discipline into the Finals.

In the Junior Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, proceedings went according to seeding.

Top seeds Brazil dominated throughout the week, sailing into the Final without the loss of a rubber, where they faced second seeds Argentina.

Brazil faced more resistance in the Final, however, with Argentina claiming the first rubber in three sets, but Brazil took the remaining two rubbers in straight sets to claim first place.

In the third place play-off third seeds Peru breezed past unseeded Bolivia to claim the third available place for the Finals.

In the Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas it was second seeds Colombia who raced into the final without the loss of a rubber.

Colombia went on to defeat top seeds Argentina in the final in a closely fought tie with the second seeds emerging victorious with a 10-5 win in the match tie break of the deciding doubles.

Third place was claimed by unseeded Uruguay, who defeated Brazil in the decisive play-off.
