The draws have been published for the 37th edition of the ITF Young Seniors World Team Championships.
In the Suzanne Lenglen Cup (Women’s 35) the host nation South Africa will take on second seed Germany in their opening match of the group. Reigning Champions Netherlands are drawn as seed three and start their title campaign against USA.
In the Italia Cup (Mens 35), top seed Spain will face Mexico in their first tie in Group A while Group D has lined up one to watch as fourth seed Great Britain take on Russia.
World No. 1 Roberto Menendez Ferre returns with Team Spain in the Tony Trabert Cup (Mens 40), and will be keen to lead his team to victory with an opener against Ireland.
Hosts South Africa start the competition in the Young Cup (Womens 40) with a tough match against third seeds France.
Defending Champions and second seed Netherlands will kick off their compaign to retain the Dubler Cup (Mens 45) against Ireland.
In the Margaret Court Cup (Womens 45), top seeds Spain will look to retain their title starting with their opening match against Switzerland. Group D provides another match to watch out for as fourth seed Germany will take on Fifth seeds USA on Tuesday. Both teams will be looking to improve on their finishing position of fifth and sixth respectively.
Once the draws for all six cups were complete, players and spectators enjoyed the opening ceremony followed by welcome cocktails to officially open the 2017 Young Seniors World Team Championships.
