The ITF is saddened to learn of the death of long-time ITF Seniors Committee member and former player Bodo Nitsche, who passed away on 18 February aged 78.
Nitsche was a member of the ITF Seniors Committee between 1987 and 2009, having ranked No. 1 in the world in Seniors competition during that time, first attaining the top spot in October 2003.
Nitsche compiled an impressive 372-94 win-loss record during his Seniors playing career. He played on the circuit as recently as January 2014, when he contested his last Seniors tour event at the European Senior Open in Austria.
Nitsche is survived by his wife Ingrid, three children Katina, Jan-Gregor and Maximilian, and six grandchildren.
