JAKARTA, INDONESIA: Michael Venus is now just one title win away from moving into double figures as he eased to a ninth career doubles title on the ITF Pro Circuit last week.

His first time partnership with Germany's Tim Puetz paid off as the pair claimed the title without loss of a set all week. Seeded fourth they saw off the tournament’s top seeds Brydan Klein and Dane Propoggia from Australia 75 63 in the title match.

There was success for the home support in the singles event where Christopher Rungkat won his sixth career Indonesian singles title when recording a tight 64 75 win over Suk-Young Jeong from Korea, Republic.

Over in the women’s event being played at the same venue, Chinese Taipei’s Ting-Fei Juan, seeded fifth, walked away with her first title of the year following her straight sets 63 62 defeat of her compatriot Ching-Wen Hsu.

As in the men’s doubles event, the women’s doubles champions were also teaming up for the first time and came through the week without loss of a set. Unseeded Korean Ji-Hee Choi and Japan’s Akari Inoue defeated all-comers and claimed the title with a 63 64 win over the tournament’s fourth seeds.

All last week’s champions, with the exception of Venus, are in action again this week as Jakarta hosts back-to-back tournaments at the Gelora Bung Karno Tennis Stadium.

Follow the action on the tournament’s pages via the ITF Pro Circuit home page.
