Swiss-French partnership take Suzhou doubles title

SUZHOU, CHINA: The Swiss-French pair of Timea Bacsinszky and Caroline Garcia made a successful debut as a doubles pairing when they claimed the title at the $100,000 tournament in Suzhou, China, P.R.. The duo defeated their Chinese opponents Zhaoxuan Yang and Yi-Jing Zhao in straight sets 75 63 in Friday's final.

Bacsinszky and Garcia enjoyed a week in which they dropped just one set - in their semifinal clash against No. 2 seeds Tetiana Luzhaska (USA) and Saisai Zheng (CHN) - en route to their title match victory.

Top seed Su-Wei Hsieh (TPE) won the singles title with a 62 62 victory over No. 6 seed Ying-Ying Duan (CHN).
