JONKOPING, SWEDEN: Playing in his first tournament on the ITF Pro Circuit since a 1999 first round loss to Ivo Karlovic in a French Futures event, 31-year-old Andreas Vinciguerra is on course for the title to add to his triumph in Finland in October 1998.

The Swedish Davis Cup player, who first reached a career high of 33 with the ATP in November 2001, defeated the third seeded British player Tom Burn in straight sets 63 61 to follow up his first round win, also in straight sets.

Vinciguerra will next play fellow Swede and wild card entrant Fred Simonsson for a place in the semifinal.

Top seed Erik Chvojka from Canada is now the lone foreign player left in the singles draw and his quarterfinal opponent will be the seventh seed Lucas Renard. The only other two seeds to have reached this stage of the draw, Robin Olin, 5, and Patrik Brydolf, 2, will also be facing each other for a semifinal spot.

Ervin Eleskovic and Isak Arvidsson make up the singles quarterfinal line-up.

The doubles event is now at the semifinal stage and, like the singles event, is heavily dominated by Swedish players. Robin Olin, one of two players still involved in both events, will see action with partner Kalle Averfalk as the third seeds take on Sweden's Pablo Figueroa and his British partner Tom Burn.

The other semifinal features the only other non-Swedish player in the draw, Denmark's Soren Wedge. Along with partner Milos Sekulic he is seeded fourth and they will be up against Filip Bergevi and another still involved in the singles event, Fred Simonsson.
