LONDON, GREAT BRITAIN: Review our game-by-game text coverage of Noam Gershony's straight sets victory over David Wagner of USA in the quad singles final at Eton Manor. This is Israel's first ever gold medal at the Paralympic Tennis Event.
GERSHONY WINS 6-3 6-1 (56 MINS)
Wagner 3-6 1-6 Gershony
It's all over! Typical of the match, Gershony wins with a superb backhand pass down the line on his first match point, leaving his opponent wrong-footed. Wagner was far from his best today, but take nothing away from a fantastic performance from Gershony. A well deserved gold medal goes to the Israeli.
Wagner* 3-6 1-5 Gershony
Two winners from Gershony, one forehand and one backhand, open up a 30-0 lead, then an ace brings up 40-0. He only needs one chance as Wagner comes forward and sees a half volley land just out. The end is nigh.
Wagner 3-6 1-4 *Gershony
It's just not Wagner's day. He's well off the pace. Gershony breaks again when the world No. 1 nets a rallying backhand at 15-40. The finish line is drawing near now for the Israeli. Two more games required.
Wagner* 3-6 1-3 Gershony
Finally, something for Wagner to hang his hat on. The American breaks back to love, sealing the game with an excellent backhand return winner. Is that the inspiration he needs?
Wagner 3-6 0-3 *Gershony
Centre Court is a lonely place for Wagner at the moment. Gershony compounds his misery by breaking to love. The Israeli really is playing some fantastic tennis. A pair of backhand winners seal the game and the American doesn't have an answer... at the moment!
Wagner* 3-6 0-2 Gershony
Wagner needs to find some form, and quickly, otherwise this final will be over soon. The American has a chance to break, only to see a return float wide. Gershony makes him pay and two points later he seals the game.
Wagner 3-6 0-1 *Gershony
Gershony carries forward the momentum and moves into a 15-40 lead on Wagner's serve. A forehand winner from the American saves the first one, but he can't repeat the feat and Gershony breaks to take an early lead in the second set.
FIRST SET GERSHONY 6-3 (35 MINS)
Wagner* 3-6 0-0 Gershony
Yes, is the answer. A combination of heavy serves and big forehands get Gershony over the line. The world No. 2 is looking in good shape at the moment. What has Wagner got left in the locker?
Wagner 3-5 *Gershony
Just what the doctor ordered for Wagner. He quickly holds to love, forcing Gershony to serve out the first set. This is the first time the Israeli has played in the quad singles final at the Paralympics, a much bigger stage than he's used to. Can he handle the pressure?
Wagner* 2-5 Gershony
Gershony holds and the world No. 1 is in trouble here. Four consecutive games for the Israeli see him just one short of taking the first set. Wagner approaches the net at 40-30 and an attempted drop shot doesn't make it over.
Wagner 2-4 *Gershony
Wagner fights back from 0-30 down to draw level at 30-30. Oh dear! For the second service game in a row the American chucks in two double faults to gift Gershony a break. There is daylight between the two players now for the first time in the match.
Wagner* 2-3 Gershony
Gershony is pegged back to deuce when a well-crafted pointed from Wagner sees him put away a forehand volley. The Israeli regroups and on his second game point a big first serve draws a missed return from the world No. 1.
Wagner 2-2 *Gershony
Wagner looks like he's heading for an easy hold when he opens up a 40-0 lead, only Gershony has other ideas and, helped by a pair of double faults, wins four points in a row to bring up an opportunity to break. The American staves off the initial threat, but the Israeli engineers a second chance and this time Wagner nets a backhand volley. We're all square.
Wagner* 2-1 Gershony
The American draws first blood as Gershony hands him the game with a double fault. It seemed like Wagner had messed up his chance when he pushed a short ball long at 15-15, but three quick points put him one break up.
Wagner 1-1 *Gershony
Wagner takes a 40-30 lead in his opening service game, but a double fault brings up deuce. A long rally on the next point ends with an unforced error from the Israeli and Wagner seals the game at the second time of asking when a return from his opponent sails wide into the tramlines.
Wagner* 0-1 Gershony
Gershony serves first and dodges a bullet straight away when he saves a break point at 30-40 with an excellent forehand winner, just out of reach for Wagner. Two points later he gets off the mark with his first ace of the match.
Wagner 0-0 *Gershony
The players enter Centre Court to Thin Lizzy's 1976 hit The Boys Are Back in Town. This is the tenth match between this pair and Gershony currently leads the series 5-4, although Wagner won their last two meetings earlier this year. We're in for a treat!
